The workshops, which will be held within the Festival, from Monday 19 to Friday 23 August, will take place, for the first time, in spaces open to the public, “in order to bring love to the theater to the street and make participant to the passers-by of the magic of the theater ”, explained the mayor of Culture and director of the Festival, David Martínez.

The adult workshop, given by the stage director, Antonio Saura will take place in five sessions, in the Plaza de España in San Javier from 19:00 to 21:00 under the title “Los Atridas. The tragic body ”. The workshop participants will be part of a choir around the myth of Los Atridas and will especially work on physicality as a capacity for communication through the body.

The youth interpretation workshop “Being another. The Greek hero ”, will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the Paseo Colón in Santiago de la Ribera given by the actress Esperanza Clares, and she intends to carry out an interpretive work based on an adaptation of the novel by Alessandro Baricco, "Homer Iliad". The children's workshop will be based on a work based on the theatrical game and has, among many other objectives, to increase the creative capacity of the participants, discover the theater for them, and enhance teamwork.

Festival director David Martínez pointed out that the theater workshops offered in this 50th edition constitute "one more step of the San Javier Festival and a commitment to theater pedagogy for both amateur actors and anyone who is interested in discovering the magic of theater" . Martínez announced that on May 23 the rest of the program of the 50th edition of the Festival will be announced at an event to be held in San Javier.

68 edición Festival Internacional de Santander 2019

Next Saturday, August 3 and until August 31, a new edition of the Santander International Festival will take place at the Palacio de Festivales y Marcos Históricos where the conductor Sir Simon Rattle and the London Symphony Orchestra will once again star in a double date, on the 11th and August 12, in which they will combine classic performances by Haydn, Rachmaninov and Brahms with two brilliant compositions that are more contemporary and less common on this stage.

Next year marks the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, so the Festival has decided to go one step ahead to avoid the foreseeable saturation of shows that will revolve around the work of the genius of Bonn during the upcoming music season.

So on August 28 and 29, pianist Javier Perianes and conductor Juanjo Mena will present the full length of Beethoven's ‘Piano Concerts’, accompanied by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. We will be able to listen to the five concert tops of the German composer in a double program.

The Festival will also be attended by the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, who will accompany the renowned South Korean pianist SeongJi Cho, winner of the XVII International Piano Competition Federico Chopin in 2015, at the opening on August 3.

With the priority objective of spreading culture among all audiences, until Friday, July 12, you could buy discounted tickets for the many proposals that make up this year's program. The FIS offers a wide variety of rates, depending on the shows and the lounge areas.

This initiative to bring culture closer allows you to enjoy symphonic concerts by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra accompanied on piano by Seong-Ji Cho; and Orchester de la Suisse Romande with Jonathan Nott at the helm for less than 30 euros. In addition, for less than 25 euros, the public can attend shows by the Sodre National Ballet, directed by Igor Yebra, or by the Acosta Danza company, as well as enjoy concerts by the Cadaqués Orchestra and Les Musiciens du Louvre.

This philosophy of reduced prices maintained by the FIS makes it possible that for less than 15 euros you can buy seats for the recitals of this year's two great soloists: the Mexican tenor Javier Camarena and the Portuguese pianist Maria João Pires. For that price you can also reserve a seat for the concerts of the Baroque Music Cycle.

The 68th edition of the Santander International Festival has the support of the Government of Cantabria, the Santander City Council and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, through the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM).

The municipalities of Arnuero, Castro Urdiales, Colindres, Comillas, Escalante, Hermandad de Campoo de Suso, Mazcuerras, Miengo, Miera, Noja, Rasines, Ribamontán al Mar, Santillana del Mar, San Vicente de la Barquera and Suances, as well as the Sanctuary of La Bien Aparecida collaborate to make the Historical Mark cycle possible.

The 42 edition has Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz and Juan Ruiz de Alarcón as axes of a feminist, Americanist, inclusive and accessible programming.

The festival will be starred by 68 companies from 4 continents.

The illuminated world, and I wake up, Almagro 2019

The 42 edition of the Almagro International Classical Theater Festival has been in full celebration since last Thursday the 4th with the delivery of the Corral de Comedias Award to actress Adriana Ozores; and will last until Sunday, July 28. This year the festival has 144 functions starring 68 companies from 4 continents (Africa, America, Asia and Europe), among which the presence of Mexico as a guest country stands out.

The 42 edition stands out this year for the presence of 26 directors where, in addition, texts by 23 contemporary playwrights and 13 authors from the Golden Age will be represented. As a novelty, the number of authors and authors is equal: 13 women and 13 men.

- The New Golden Age that we have to build must be more Americanist, more feminist, more inclusive and more communal-, declared the festival's director, Ignacio García, last April with the presentation of the festival.

To highlight as a novelty the live broadcast via streaming of RTVE.es. The chain of communication announced that it would broadcast the works Sor Juana Inés, with favor and disdain; Lazarillo de Tormes and Words to disappear.

Last Monday the 8th the first play was broadcast; Sor Juana Inés, with favor and disdain
María Adánez and Manuela Velasco star in this fiction, which narrates the last years of the nun Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, one of the most important voices of the Spanish baroque, with original text by Alfonso Latorre, directed by Benigno Moreno and directed by Mayca Aguilera , in collaboration with the RNE and Producciones Telón Sound Fiction team.

Yesterday, Tuesday the 9th, Lazarillo de Tormes was broadcast
Antonio Campos covers and adapts the famous picaresque novel, directed by Lluís Elías and the company AlbacityCorporation. Never before has a classic had the opportunity to be accompanied by the powerful complicit guitar of José Luis Montón, chords that join the unique voice of Lazarillo de Tormes that is represented through Antonio Campos, staging the low and vagabond class of a epoch. A shrewd and treacherous antihero, a rogue who, passing from master to master, suffered the famine of the poor Golden Age

Finally, today 10 will be broadcast Words to disappear
Within the Children's Baroque Contest, the La MatriosKa Collective plays with texts by María de Zayas, Sor Violante Do Ceo, Ana Caro de Mallén, in a version by Ana Martín Puigpelat interpreted by Itzíar Ortega, Belén Rodríguez and Helena Fernández.

In the words of the theater company: "It may seem that one woman fits inside another. But it is not always the case. If it happens, instead, that a woman can fit many, because a woman is not only an actress or seamstress or mother or designer or cook or light. Because it usually happens that a woman is professional but collides again and again and again against the system that does not see her. It happens that the woman only receives promises, illusions, smoke. "

Olmedo Classical Theater Festival

The Spanish classics of the Golden Age theater and their European contemporaries will relive their stories full of feelings, ideas, lessons and fun, on the stages of the Villa del Caballero in the fourteenth edition of the Festival de Olmedo Clásico, to be held from Thursday, July 11 to Sunday 21: eleven days of theatrical immersion with shows, dialogue tables, proposals for work in the classroom, actors 'course, teachers' course, exhibitions, book offers, etc.

The selection of the sixteen shows that can be seen seeks to reflect the quality and variety that the staging of the classics offers today, both in genres - tragedy, drama and comedy - and in authors, times and territories; Diversity has also been sought in the origin of the companies - this year we will have two Spanish-Americans - as well as in their dramaturgical proposals, which combine consolidated formulas with the most innovative ones; and always bearing in mind that theater can only be considered classic if it is also current theater.

The performances will open with the section "Classics on the eve", which we recall again in this edition to offer the premiere of The Weddings of Olmedo, by the Superior School of Dramatic Art of Castilla y León with the direction of Pepa Pedroche.

The 14th course on acting analysis and interpretation «Fernando Urdiales» will be held from July 11 to 17. His acting, diction, history, music or dance classes, among others, will have an outstanding practical component, which in this edition will use scenes from La dama boba by Lope de Vega. 15º Festival Internacional de las Artes de Castilla y León

Wednesday, May 22, 2019

15th Castilla y León International Arts Festival

The International Arts Festival of Castilla y León has been held annually in Salamanca, since 2005

The Castilla y León International Arts Festival, promoted by the Junta de Castilla y León, is a multidisciplinary event in which all kinds of shows such as dance-theater, electronic music, multimedia theater, performances, are mixed. dance, theater, graffiti, etc.

Companies from different countries meet at this meeting that invites the public to open their senses to the unknown and to participate in the different spaces of the city.

As a premiere in Spain, the latest works and creations of some of the most prestigious international artists of our time.

But, above all, and judging by the magnificent response obtained in past editions, FÀCYL is reunited with an increasingly large audience that, year after year, has faithfully followed a varied program selected based on the quality and diversity of styles and disciplines.

From May 29 to June 2, Salamanca will host the fifteenth edition of this festival that receives more and more every year.

Nigerian musician Femi Kuti, one of the main representatives of Afrobeat; the Madrid band Morgan, which sold out their concert tickets in Barcelona and Madrid last January, and the group Diavlo, formed by the former drummer from Dover, are the first names for the FÀCYL 2019 program, which this year will pose a musical journey, through emotions. Also today the poster for this edition has been advanced, the work of the artist Javier Bergasa Guerra.

The Festival will present this year a musical journey through emotions and in this way, with the backbone story of human emotions, a theme proposed since the arrival of Carlos Jean to the artistic direction is completed. In the three previous editions (2016-18), the leitmotif revolved around art, the senses and time. Now, the festival will focus on emotions and its “colorful and innovative” poster, the work of Javier Bergasa Guerra, reflects the senses with which we process those emotions.

To set the scene and liven up the Festival, the FÀCYL CREW will once again become a living representation of human emotions, who will interact emotionally with the audience, accentuating their character and making the citizens of Salamanca and visitors discover their own feelings.

The counselor has highlighted how, in recent years, FÀCYL has strengthened its link with the social, cultural and economic fabric of the city of Salamanca and recalled that the Festival has physically expanded during the last editions to the surroundings of the cathedral complex, turning the most historical space in the city into the epicenter of the artistic avant-gardes.

Pan Pa 'Hoy promotes this art in the region

Pan Pa 'Hoy, the local cultural association of Tomelloso, every year collaborates in celebrating and promoting the world of theater in and around Tomelloso.

Something that characterizes this association is its commitment to reinvent itself in order to reach the public most reluctant to go to the rooms destined mainly for this art, such as theaters and auditoriums.
